The company’s initial public offering was valued at $9 billion, making Elizabeth Holmes the daughter of a congressional committee staffer and a U.S. aid worker. She also received funds from several angel investors. In addition to being a rich businesswoman, she is a multi-millionaire who is a renowned entrepreneur in the biomedical field. If she was found guilty of her fraud, she could face up to 30 years in prison.

Her entrepreneurial journey started as a chemical engineer at Stanford University. Holmes was fascinated by technology and wanted to become the next Steve Jobs. She even wore a black turtleneck every day to look like the famous Apple brand founder. She even had an on-stage presentation that caught the attention of former President Bill Clinton. The company’s products had won many awards, including the Nobel Prize in science. In 2003, the company was founded by Elizabeth Holmes. She studied chemical engineering and worked in a laboratory in Singapore. Although she had initially been criticized by experts, she managed to convince a professor at Stanford University to back her invention. She is also credited with inventing the wearable drug delivery patch. She eventually dropped out of school, attracting scientists and engineers to her startup.
