The Kerala CM-Pinarayi Vijayan’s involvement in the gold trafficking was revealed after the accused’s statement came to light. The opposition leader, V. D. Satheesan, demanded his resignation and challenged him to face the investigation.
According to the Opposition, the current disclosure of the accused is a tight slap on the face for those who have registered a fake case against the inoffensive Oommen Chandy as part of a political conspiracy.
Speaker M. B. Rajesh and Chief Minister Vijayan do not entertain the Opposition’s demand for discussions on an emergency resolution notice in the legislative.
They have given an excuse that the case is under the court process. However, V. D. Satheesan has contradicted it and pointed out that the Assembly has a prior practice of discussing matters in front of the courts.
The Speaker has established that conventional practice is more elementary than the law and regulations to be followed in the House. However, he stuck back on the law factor to safeguard Pinarayi Vijayan.
The Opposition made a distinctive appearance with a resolution present at the gateway of the Assembly to bother against the denial of permission to launch an urgent constitutional resolution submission.
According to V. D. Satheesan, the CPM should not forget that their government had registered a case against Oommen Chandy occupying a charge lodged by a woman suspect in an old duping case.
He said it correlated with the CPM leaders’ claim that Pinarayi’s previous secretary, Sivasankaran’s statement, was not against him in this case.
However, the disclosure of Swapna, another accused in the smuggling case, is entirely ignored by the party leaders and justifies her statement that she can not be trusted. According to her, Vijayan had carried out an individual allotment containing US dollars on his foreign trip. She produced this compelling declaration to the officials who have been engaged with the gold trafficking investigation.
